U radu se analiziraju suvremene koncepcije znanja i obrazovanja temeljene na neoliberalističkoj i neokonzervativističkoj paradigmi. Neoliberalistička i neokonzervativistička koncepcija znanje pretvaraju u robu, a učinkovitost škola isključivo se ogleda u ranglistama i nesmislenim zahtjevima koji su usmjereni na stvaranje „elitnih“ obrazovnih institucija i centara izvrsnosti.

I gennemsnit er over 80 % af alle voksne med en videregående uddannelse i beskæftigelse sammenholdt med 70 % af voksne med en gymnasieuddannelse og videregående ikke-akademisk uddannelse, og under 60 % af alle voksne uden en uddannelse. Voksne med en videregående uddannelse tjener også i gennemsnit ca. 60 % mere end alle voksne uden en gymnasial uddannelse

The pilot project "Fragile Communities" was set up by the Regional Institute of Iceland and the municipalities involved, and was launched in Iceland in 2012 to support depopulated communities in rural areas of Iceland.

The Regional Institue published a report in 2012 on regional development in communities with long standing depopulation.  The analysis defined municipalities that had endured more than 15% depopulation over 15 years period, a total of 30 municipalites.
