During the period March 2013 – August 2014, Andras, together with the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research, was coordinating the project AGENDA - Implementation of the European Agenda for Adult Learning.

The importance of adult education has been affirmed in recent policy documents in several countries, justified in terms of its benefits to individuals and the wider benefits society draws from having a better educated population. Rarely is policy on adult education tied in to policies on the development of place, especially to current interest in the development of learning cities. This paper identifies policy drivers essential for embedding learning in the processes of learning cities.

10. februára 2015 bola zverejnená nová správa Eurydice, prinášajúca dôležité informácie o vzdelávaní dospelých. Prostredníctvom súhrnného prehľadu politík a údajov týkajúcich sa obnovenej Európskej agendy pre vzdelávanie dospelých je cieľom tejto správy podporiť výmenu v oblasti politík a dobrej praxe medzi európskymi krajinami.

Estyn thematic report that looks at the impact of Adult Community Learning (ACL) on the wellbeing of older learners.

There is an emphasis in ACL on developing skills for employment, however, this does not suit all older learners who are more interested in enrichment activities at their stage of life. These activities could be courses in hobby or craft skills or courses that help them to live a healthy life and maintain their wellbeing.

This brochure gives an overview over the basic structure of the German guidance system especially for our partners in the European Union and beyond. In general, the German system provides access to educational and career guidance services for all citizens at any stage of their lives - whether they are in education or training, employed, unemployed or looking for continuing education. The structure of guidance provision reflects the German education and employment system with its shared responsibilities between the Federation, the Länder and the municipalities.

Ovom odlukom usvaja se Strateška platforma razvoja obrazovanja odraslih u kontekstu cjeloživotnog učenja u Bosni i Hercegovini, za period 2014.-2020. (u daljemtekstu: Strateška platforma).  Strateška platforma usvojena ovom odlukom predstavlja pravni okvir i osnov za djelovanje i saradnju nadležnih organa, institucija, organizacija i pojedinaca na svim nivoima vlasti u Bosni i Hercegovini, na planu usvajanja i pune implementacije neophodnih strateških i/ili drugih razvojnih dokumenata o i u vezi s obrazovanjem odraslih.

Das ist nur eines der zahlreichen Ergebnisse des Adult Education Survey 2012 (AES), dessen abschließender Ergebnisbericht in dieser Publikation vorliegt. Der Bericht analysiert und kommentiert die repräsentativen Daten unter Berücksichtigung zentraler Fragestellungen: Wer genau nimmt wie oft und wie lange an Weiterbildung teil? Und wer nimmt nicht teil?

A research study in nineteen selected European and non-European countries shows that the returns to adult learning are substantial and accrue to the economy, individuals and society. The analysis suggests that adult learning is even more important for innovation performance than higher education. This is explained with the fact that for example learning in the workplace through task complexity is the most important driver for innovation performance.

With the new Erasmus+ Programme, the numbers of people in Europe studying and training abroad for a period of time will more than double. What do career guidance counsellors have to do with that, one might ask. From the EU’s point of view, the answer is “everything”. Not only can they participate as individuals in this great wave of learning mobility, but they are also seen as catalysts to encourage others to seize the opportunity. Promoting this idea is one of the Euroguidance centre’s main raisons d’être.

Taalvaardigheden zijn essentieel om deel te kunnen nemen aan de arbeidsmarkt en aan het dagelijks leven. Nederland beschikt over een beroepsbevolking met een hoog gemiddeld niveau van taalvaardigheid. Maar een aanzienlijke groep mensen in Nederland is laaggeletterd: 12% van de mensen tussen 16 en 65 jaar hebben moeite met het lezen, begrijpen en gebruiken van relatief eenvoudige teksten, in digitale vorm of op papier.

This short guide, created as part of a Grundtvig learning partnership: AEPT 2020 - Adult Education Pathways Towards 2020 - is a presentation of principles underlining good practices of adult lifelong learning with a special focus on senior learners. These principles are strictly related to the concept of motivation – the unique, driving force behind any form of learning.

Learning across Generations in Europe: Contemporary issues in older adult education constitutes an important book in the emergent field of study of older adult learning. The book gives a clear and wide overview on the different concepts, ideas, and meanings, related to older adults’ education, learning and intergenerational learning through strong theoretical standpoints, empirical research, and policy directions.

In recent years there has been a development in Norway towards increased ethnic diversity and visible multiculturalism. Immigrants now comprise about 12 percent of the total population and 24 percent of the population in the nation’s capital city. The number of immigrants has doubled from 2003 to 2013 (Andreassen et al., 2013). Immigrants are active members of Norwegian society, including Government, civil society and the working life.

Slovenski prevod knjižice Razvoj politike za vseživljenjsko karierno orientacijo: evropski nabor orodij, ki jo je pripravila Evropska mreža za razvoj politik vseživljenjske orientacije (European Lifelong Guidance Policy Network, mreža ELGPN), je konec leta 2014 izdal Center RS za poklicno izobraževanje (CPI). V njej je predstavljeno evropsko orodje v podporo pri načrtovanju in izvajanju učinkovite vseživljenjske karierne orientacije na nacionalni, regionalni in lokalni ravni.

Európsky kvalifikačný rámec pre celoživotné vzdelávanie (EKR) je spoločný európsky referenčný systém, ktorý spája národné kvalifikačné systémy rôznych krajín, pričom funguje ako akási prekladová pomôcka napomáhajúca, aby boli kvalifikácie prehľadnejšie a zrozumiteľnejšie naprieč rôznymi krajinami a systémami v Európe. Má dva hlavné ciele: podporovať mobilitu občanov medzi krajinami a uľahčovať ich celoživotné vzdelávanie.

This report identifies 116 labour market reforms taking place across 29 European countries (EU-28 and Iceland), introduced between mid-March and mid-September 2014. Most new measures (24) were introduced in Policy Area (PA) 2iii.
