Our lives consist of many transitions – some of them are planned and have a time schedule (think of starting and finishing school, retirement etc.). Others can be planned to a certain extent but are quite traditional and their preparation and consequences are very well known: marriage and children, for example. Then we have events that demand a lot of resilience, such as divorce, illness or job loss. The good news is that adult learning and education can play a very positive role in supporting people in these life transitions.

Tuo labiau, kad vis dar nėra – o turbūt ir negali būti – universalių mokymo(si) metodų.

Realising that technologies, computing capacities, intelligent machines and artificial intelligence in general had become a significant and unavoidable part od teaching and learning in modern age, it struck me that I knew so little about the new phenomenon. The strange was the fact that I used and relied on artificial intelligence a lot without even realising it. The realisation set me on the way of exploring the world of the very phenomenon, its advantages and disadvantages, impact and all the possibilities it offers in education.

Käesoleva bakalaureusetöö eesmärk on kaardistad Eesti täiskasvnute mitteformaalses õppes osalemist mõjutavad sotsiaaldemograafilised näitajad, osaluspõhjused ja läbi koolituse pikkuse ka saadaolevate koolituste kvaliteeti. Tegu on kvantitatiivse uurimusega, kasutades Täiskasvanute koolituse uuringu 2011. aasta andmeid. Valimisse on kaasatud Eesti 25-84-aastane rahvastik ning Eestis viib antud uuringut läbi Statistikaamet.

Uus teadus- ja haridusstrateegia Tark ja tegus Eesti 2035 (2019) on kirjeldanud tuleviku õpetamise ja õppimise suundumused, mille järgi peab õppimine muutuma senisest enam õppijakesksemaks, lähtudes iga õppija õpivajadusest ning arendada tuleb õppija õpioskust ja enesejuhtimisoskust. Enesejuhitavus, õpivajadus, õpivalmidus, kogemus, õpimotivatsioon, koostöö, kaasamine – need täiskasvanuõppimise peamised printsiibid konstrueeris Malcolm S. Knowles (1990) ühtsesse andragoogilisse mudelisse juba aastakümneid tagasi.

The current COVID-19 crisis has brought deep disruption at global level and in most realms of life. The crisis has revealed how important basic skills are in terms of helping people cope and adapt to unexpected change, and it has also abundantly shown we were unprepared. As is very often the case, the most vulnerable groups have suffered the most. People without a functional level of literacy, numeracy and digital skills found themselves unable to access the advice from health authorities or to properly evaluate the veracity of other types of information they got, much of which did not come from authoritative sources.
