Lifelong learning of families with children with special needs requirements

As a result of technological developments in today’s world, information production and sharing are on the increase. All these recent developments have been leading up to a new social structure by affecting the social, cultural and economic fundamentals of societies. This new sense of society is called ‘information society’. The emerging developments in the information society such as fast-changing information, easy access to information have been causing a change in qualities of individuals who society in need of. Accordingly, education that plays an important role in acquiring qualification has been affected by this process as well. It is thought that learning doesn’t happen just in classrooms anymore. It ought to continue throughout life.

In this study the terms ‘information society’, ‘changing education paradigm’, ‘lifelong learning’ is defined, and also the importance of lifelong learning for parents of children with special needs is emphasized.
