Prisoner Learning Academic Network: Putting Pedagogy into Practice

The Prisoner Learning Academic Network (PLAN) is holding the second of a series of seminars that aim to explore and challenge current conversations taking place within the prison education sector. These seminars draw together providers, practitioners and learners to contribute to a meaningful discussion.

The first seminar considered the purpose of prison education and the theoretical pedagogies attributed to it. This seminar will explore ways to translate pedagogy and research into practice, as well as contemplate the role of research in strategic planning. The relationship between academic institutions and education providers and practitioners will provide an additional special focus, particularly why such a relationship is important and how these relationships can be developed.
Speakers at the seminar include:
- Professor Gabrielle Ivinson from Manchester Metropolitan University
- Sally Garrett from Movus
- Sir Simon Hughes from the Open University and London South Bank University
Delegates will be able to enjoy a drinks reception after the seminar.
