Education and Training Boards Ireland (ETBI) on behalf of the 16 Education and Training Boards (ETB’s) are establishing a new national panel of External Authenticators (EA) for Further Education and Training programmes.
The External Authenticator provides independent confirmation of fair and consistent assessment of learners in accordance with QQI requirements and reports on consistency of assessment results with national standards.
In collaboration with the Further Education Support Service two additional briefing sessions have been arranged. During these Briefing Sessions the requirements for the role and the application process will be discussed.
Previous External Authentication experience is desirable but not essential.
Interested individuals should have experience of delivering or assessing programmes leading to QQI awards, or associated industry expertise (5 years).
This EA Panel will serve those services in Education and Training Boards providing programmes leading to QQI awards.
For further information logon to www.etbi.ie
Attendance at the briefing is a prerequisite for membership of the Summer 2019-2022 National panel. Access to the Online Application form will be made available to participants following the briefing.
On receipt of applications shortlisting may take place and appointments to the Panel will be made on the basis of sufficient qualifications/experience, participation at both the briefing session and an Authenticator training event.
Participation in briefings/ training does not guarantee assignment as an EA in any specific certification period.
*Note until further notice existing Panels/EAs will still operate at local levels.
*Please note attendance at Briefings will be at your own expense and if arrangements for release are required from your employer or ETB this should be carried out in advance of you registering.
