According to EUROSTAT data, the EU immigrant population as a whole (including both the people born abroad and also their children) increased by almost two fifths between 2008 and 2014, reaching up to 55 million in 2014 (from 40 million in 2008). The recent migration flows plead to this result. A widely recognized challenge is how to ensure the successful and effective social inclusion of these people into the local societies, a win-win procedure for both sides. One the most effective solutions to this challenge is to focus on the promotion and support of social inclusion of the 2nd generation young migrants, ensuring their way into education and employment.
ACT POSITIVE project will step in this exact step: within the project’s activities a new innovative method of training courses that will empower the employability skills of 2nd generation young migrants will be developed based on the positive psychology approach and theory.
The main objective of ACT POSITIVE project is to promote and support the social inclusion and, specifically, the employability of 2nd generation young migrants by empowering their skills, resilience and strengths using the main elements of the positive psychology theory.
IO1 – 2nd generation young migrants’ State of the Art: research and analysis of the specific needs to be addressed in order to promote the young migrants’ employability
