Amasya Counselling and Research Center

Amasya Counselling and Research Center is a governmental organizations in Turkey who works with disadvantages groups such as disables, refugees, convict, addicted.

We started our service in 1981. We have a team of 20 people including 2 administrators, 8 special education teachers, 4 guidance teachers and 5 auxiliary services personnel. There are 215 schools in preschool, primary school, junior high school and high school level in our region. We serve 65,174 students in these schools, 5295 teachers and 258,348 citizens in special education and guidance areas.

Due to the limited number of business areas in the Black Sea Region, Only immigrants from rural and foreign nationals. The vast majority of the population lives in rural areas. For this reason, most of the citizens who are served by our institution consist of disadvantaged individuals.

Our institution carries out the services of diagnosis and guidance of individuals with special education needs, family guidance, identification of foreign nationals, diagnosis and educational orientation of gifted children, individual psychological counseling and guidance as well as teacher trainings. In addition, special education and guidance teachers train all the schools and organizations in our region in the field of professional development.

As an institution we have prepared and carried out many projects in line with the needs of our province. Project of Amasya Democracy Training Center (ADEM) financed by the Central Finance and Contracts Unit (EDEMC), Project of Autism Training-Education Funded by EDES, Ministry of Family and Social Policy, Projects Handled by EDES, I completed the Healthy Schools / Healthy Students Project, another project financed by the National Agency with Innovation in Vocational Technical Education.

We had a KA2 project in the field of Strategic Partnerships (Erasmus + KA201) in the field of Education of the Gifted. In this project we worked with EHP-Belgique, Romania Justforkids Scahool and Centro de Profesores y Recursos de Caminomorisco Spain.

We also provide business and vocational counseling, career planning and promotion fairs for the secondary schools in our province. Universities Promotional Fair and Career Days events organized by our institution are organized traditionally in April every year, with participation of more than 8 students who are educated in our province.

Our greatest advantage in successful work carried out as an institution is; Civil society organizations, and all official institutions and organizations. In addition, constant contact with school administrators and teachers at all levels makes the projects easier to disseminate and increases their productivity.

We are the only official agency that is competent in the identification, orientation, follow-up and family guidance processes of disablity individuals. In addition, we organize courses and seminars for diadvantages. We also provide psychological support for gifted who are experiencing compliance problems.

 We would like to take a course on culturely sensivity for develop of culturally competence  our staffs who works disadvantages. 8 projects that you have already conducted as a project partner and contributed in this project will contribute to my experience in this project about disadvantages.
