Decisive steps are being taken in vocational education in Edremit. Vocational education, which is one of the priorities of the 2023 Vision Document and the Ministry of National Education, is of great importance for the production and service sectors. Aware of the critical role of vocational high schools in development, the District National Education Directorate has designated the 2019-2020 academic year as the breakthrough year in vocational education in our district. In this context, many meetings were held with Vocational High School Principals, Assistant Principals and area Chiefs in the District's National Education Directorate.
At the meeting, it was planned that our schools would work with a factory logic with a focus on production and service. The headteachers of Vocational High School talked about the work they planned to do with the area chiefs and teachers. Furniture manufacturing in our district, repairs, graduation photos, yearbooks, special day photography, 3D design, animation, construction, bed linen, curtains, kitchen apron and tablecloth sewing, vehicle maintenance is projected to be offered by many services, such as vocational schools. In this context, the education of the students should be continued in cooperation with the Edremit Public Education Center.
The conclusion reached the meeting was: "our vocational high schools are the locomotives of the manufacturing and service sectors. The more we put the student at the center of the work, the more highly qualified staff we train. We aimed to move Edremit forward in vocational education. Edremit Public Education Center always gives support to different institutions or vocational-technical schools in order to supply more entrepreneurship and employabilities to our citizens. For example. we opened producing qualified olive oil and soap courses in Technical vocational school. Also, we supported the vehicle technology project MATMER which was developed by Edremit Vocational Education Center.
