Online Conference: Sustainability through Cross-Border Circular Economy

The partners of the SCRCE Erasmus + Project together with the Working Group on Sustainability and Product Responsibility of the German Association for Waste Management (DGAW) offer you this ourstanding online conference free of costs.
The conference will raise questions on the practical implementation of an international circular economy.
These issues were discussed in detail within the German Association of Waste Management (DGAW) and the SCRCE project with partners from Germany, Greece, Italy and Sweden. The ideas of DGAW and the outcome of the project are forward-looking and ambitious and you will learn about them. Additionally we intend to receive new impulses from representatives of the EU, the Federal German Ministry for the environment, professional associations and the industry.

2.00 pm | Welcome note by the moderator: Dr. Volker Ludwig CEO of Dr. Ludwig Intelligent Projects GmbH, Bonn, Working Group on Sustainability and Product Responsibility of DGAW The moderator will explain the background of the project SCRCE and of the work of the DGAW working group and give a real short introduction about the topic, additionally the moderator will give some informations about how to pose questions and comments by using the chat function. |

2.20 pm | Presentation: The 5 theses and positions on the role of waste management in a circular economy Mr. Stefan Ebelt and Dr. Max Regenfelder Head of the Working Group on Sustainability and Product Responsibility of DGAW, Berlin The speakers will point out the 5 theses and the connection between the ideas of the working group and the SCRCE project. The theses are the result of the identification of the problem areas and the spheres of activity needed to realize a circular economy worth mentioning by having the realities in mind founded in the waste management sector. |
2.45 pm | Presentation: The Ideas, Progress and Results of the Erasmus + project SCRCE Dr. Kitty Panourgia President of the Entrepreneurship and Social Economy Group Greece, Athens, (EKOGREECE) The speaker will introduce the topic cross-border circular economy. She will explain the concept and how industry and consumers see it. She will report about the SCRCE project and the obstacles the partners had to meet. She will outline the discussions in the project, the way to handle the topic and what methodologies the partners agreed on to get forward. She will provide an insight into the results of an questionnaire, the best practices found and the input papers developed. As a highlight she will present „The CE Lifestyle Manual“ as an interesting result of SCRCE as a first simple instrument for all citizens to enable them to live a circular economical lifestyle in the future. |
3.10 pm | Bridging remarks by the moderator Dr. Ludwig to a short conference circuit concerning the practical problems of implementing of a circular economy from the point of view of the VIPs. The VIPs will share their main obstacles within these 5 minutes. The VIPs may also comment on the presentations of DGAW and SCRCE as well, but they will mainly focus on their professional point-of-view concerning circular economy within their fields of activity. The idea is to roughly estimate the actual state of affairs concerning circular economy due to their professional experience. |
