Traditional tar production, which is forgotten, is taught to future generations with the support of The Beyagac Public Education Center.
With the support of the Katran production course, Beyağaç public education center, lifelong learning goes into traditional courses
. It is obtained by the distillation of the sap obtained by burning resinous trees such as tar, black pine, red pine, juniper, and cedar, which are widely used, including medicinal products, in closed pits.
Undertaking the module preparation of the course, which is planned to be trained in Beyağaç, the Director of the Institution, Mahir GÜNGÖR, said that they aim to record the traditional forms of production that have been forgotten and to bring these crafts into cultural inventory. Drawing attention to the fact that the tar used in the field of health, protection of equipment, and many other areas for centuries has succumbed to the developing technology and has disappeared, Mr. GÜNGÖR said, “We aim to record the traditional tar production format that is forgotten. We are trying to move the next generations of conventional tar production.

Extracting tar, which has a wide range of usage from road construction to plastics industry, from healthcare to shoemaking, is brought to pine trees tar furnace, that is, to enterprises that are produced under primitive conditions. Tar furnace is burned with firewood. There is another container in the hearth. The trees are placed here and the mouth is closed in an airtight manner. As the wood burns around, the pine trees in the sealed container are throwing the water thanks to the heat

The tar obtained by distillation is transferred to the outside with a hose placed in a container.
Saying the necessity to prepare this module in order to teach all these processes in accordance with its origin, Mr. GÜNGÖR; He thanked everyone who contributed to adult education.
