Weltweit befinden sich knapp 60 Millionen Menschen auf der Flucht, viele von ihnen sind jung. Der Aufbau einer selbstbestimmten Zukunft wird ihnen jedoch häufig erschwert, indem der Zugang zu höherer Bildung verwehrt bleibt. Die Wings University hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt Menschen mit Fluchtgeschichte ein Studium trotz der vielen Barrieren zu ermöglichen. In diesem Beitrag wird auf das Konzept der Wings University eingegangen, sowie auf die Herausforderungen, die es noch zu bewältigen gibt.

The Adult Education Survey (AES) covers adults’ participation in education and training (formal, non-formal and informal learning) and is one of the main data sources for EU lifelong learning statistics. The AES focuses on people aged 25-64 living in private households. The reference period for the participation in education and training is the twelve months prior to the interview.

The following information is available from the AES:

ACTIVE is a project conducted by EFIL, the European Federation for Intercultural learning, namely the umbrella of AFS organisations in Europe. The project is supported by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe within a year-long workplan on ‘Citizenship Education: contributing to a more just and peaceful world’ which aims at giving attention to the topic within the AFS network and create a link between intercultural learning and active citizenship at all levels of society.

Niederschwelligkeit in der Bildungs- und Berufberatung: Wo sind die Eckpfeiler dazu anzusetzen?

Niederschwellige Bildungs- und Beratungsangebote haben die Aufgabe, die Integration und Teilhabe von bildungsfernen Personen zu unterstützen. Problematisch dabei ist, dass bildungsferne Personen dieses Angebot wenig bis kaum in Anspruch nehmen. Um diese Zielgruppe besser zu erreichen, ist es daher wichtig, niederschwellige Bildungs- und Beratungsangebote zu schaffen, die auf die Bedürfnisse dieser Zielgruppe eingehen.

Rapporten är en fördjupad analys av resultaten från Undersökningen av Vuxnas färdigheter som beskriver problemlösningsförmåga i teknologirika miljöer, samt åtgärder för användning av IKT och problemlösning. De nordiska länderna och Nederländerna har den största andelen av vuxna (cirka 40%) med de bästa resultaten i problemlösning, medan Irland, Polen och Slovakien har den minsta andelen(cirka 20%). Skillnaderna i ländernas färdigheter i problemlösning med hjälp av IKT beror på skillnader i tillgång till internet och e-postanvändning.

Biblioteca Județeană ASTRA Sibiu îi invită pe sibieni la 6 sesiuni de Cursuri gratuite de inițiere în arta povestirii și a fotografiei digitale – digitalstorytelling, proiect european inițiat de ANBPR în parteneriat cu Jazzmontor AS Norvegia și Asociaţia Culturală REPLIKA, finanţat prin Granturile SEE 2009-2014, Programul PA17/RO13 Promovarea diversității în cultură și artă în cadrul patrimoniului cultural european în România, cu susținerea Consiliului Județean Sibiu.

Cursurile se vor desfășura în Școala din Ticera din Muzeul din Dumbrava Sibiului în următoarele zile:

The ESF is funding tens of thousands of projects across the Union that make a real difference to the lives of millions of individuals. This is a Dutch example project in the IJssel-Vecht region of the Netherlands that is promoting an innovative form of job creation for the younger generation. Nautus, a Dutch company, is implementing a project called ‘Vouchers leerwerkbanen’ which provides job vouchers for local companies to take on apprentices.

The ESF is funding tens of thousands of projects across the Union that make a real difference to the lives of millions of individuals. This is a Dutch example about Jongeren Aanpak Noordoost-Brabant (JAN) that saw several municipalities work together to prevent unemployment amongst young people. The success of the project is the fact that the unemployment rate amongst young people did not increase during the financial and economic crisis in this region.

A celebration of International Literacy Day

NALA is hosting a conference to celebrate International Literacy Day on Tuesday 8th September in Dublin. There will be presentations from tutors, students and researchers on different ways of teaching and learning, including intensive literacy tuition, family learning models from Scotland, as well as ideas for blended learning and team teaching.


Began in 2010, the Winnet 8 project aimed to get more women into work and creating new businesses as a means of boosting growth across Europe’s regions. As well as this personalised approach, it also set out to shape regional, national and EU-level policies that relate to women’s status in the labour market and ensure these approaches are integrated into mainstream policies. In this way, addressing, at the level of policy development, the challenges that exist and that can make it difficult for women to secure jobs or further their careers in certain sectors and roles.

The STAR Awards (Showcasing Teamwork, Awarding Recognition) are an awards initiative coordinated by AONTAS as part of their annual Adult Learners' Festival to acknowledge the fantastic work undertaken by adult learning projects throughout Ireland. The awards celebrate the positive contribution that these projects make to our society, our economy and our local communities. In this blog we take a closer look at one such project - Boxing Clever.

Le projet " Son, vue, image et mouvement – les outils alternatifs pour développer des compétences et connaissances " dans le cadre des Partenariats Educatifs Grundtvig, du Programme pour l'Education et la Formation Tout au Long de la Vie s’est déroulé de août 2012 à juillet 2014.

A survey of almost 1,200 academics was recently carried out in Ireland which found that they feel more time is being spent on basic skills work due to the increasing number of students entering third-level with language difficulties and a lack of basic writing skills. The finding of the survey are detailed in the report “Creating a Supportive Working Environment for Academics in Higher Education".

One of the EU education and training benchmarks aims for 15% of 25-64 year-olds to participate in lifelong learning by 2020. This paper is the first in a series which aims to monitor Ireland’s progress towards this target by examining the number and share of persons aged 25-64 years who had engaged in lifelong learning activities. 

9. julija 2015 je v Ljubljani potekal posvet Svetovanje za zaposlene za večjo vključenost v izobraževanje in usposabljanje ter razvoj kariere. Organizirali so ga Združenje izobraževalnih in svetovalnih središč Slovenije (ZiSS), Ministrstvo za izobraževanje, znanost in šport (MIZŠ) ter Andragoški center Slovenije (ACS).

O presente artigo procura dar a conhecer as principais conclusões de um estudo qualitativo sobre a trajectória de vida de seis jovens adultos surdos que frequentaram instituições de Ensino Superior. Através da recolha das suas opiniões e relatos em Língua Gestual Portuguesa, procurou-se, à luz do modelo de transição de Schlossberg, Waters e Goodman (1995), identificar os factores facilitadores, barreiras e dificuldades sentidas pelos alunos surdos no seu processo de transição para o Ensino Superior. Deste modo, pretende-se dar estatuto à Educação, em geral, e à Educação de Adultos, em particular, através de um esforço multi e transdisciplinar que permita a construção de uma imagem que dê sentido e relevância à educação dos alunos surdos, reconhecendo-a na sua importância como um factor de justiça, de coesão social e de desenvolvimento do país. Repensando o futuro da educação e valorizando a especificidade dos seus métodos, formas e práticas esta passará a ser assumidamente um elemento base para uma educação verdadeiramente inclusiva, holística e superior.
