It is time to challenge your thinking and clarify your mind! This is a unique opportunity to get hands-on practice in applying philosophical method to your own questions. Academic skills are not required. Come and shake your world and develop your self-consciousness by philosophizing with famous French philosopher and practitioner Oscar Brenifier.

The four-day seminar introduces different ways of philosophizing through practical exercises and workshops. In this context, philosophy is not an academic activity centered on the history of ideas but an activity constitutive of the mind and the self. In this seminar we concentrate on acquiring and developing skills:

  • how to conceptualize
  • how to problematize
  • how to deepen understanding of given ideas
  • how to make a good argument
  • how to create a situation where this activity can be induced

Seminar is open to all who are interested in critical thinking and acquiring new philosophical skills. Seminar can be either an initiation to philosophical practice, or a deepening of the activity. It offers competences that can be used in variety of different professional fields. No previous experience in philosophy is needed.

The unique sawmill surroundings in Sahanlahti resort offer a peaceful atmosphere for the philosophical work and reflection. In addition the weekend is a relaxing mini holiday in the beautiful lake Saimaa district with outdoor walks, sauna, excellent accommodation and good food. All meals are prepared from local ingredients.
