Ericsson Educate Digital Learning Program

Participating in the UNESCO-led Global Education Coalition, which emerged in response to COVID-19, Ericsson launched the Connect To Learn initiative, Ericsson Educate, (educate.ericsson.net) for students around the world. The program, which can be accessed free of charge on the web portal, contains different learning paths customized according to the educational needs and maturity level of the target audience. They are committed to improving educational opportunities for children around the world through technology. This investment is essential for increasing access to education and developing the digital skills of individuals' future workforce. The Connect to Learn initiative has reached over 180,000 students located across 25 countries to date. Connect to Learn is Ericsson’s flagship education program. Its purpose is to empower teachers, students and schools to deliver a quality 21st-century education and provide young people worldwide with digital skills.

The program has four focus areas:

       1. Access to digital connectivity for schools

Digital connectivity is a key driver of the 21st century economy. However, over 40 percent of the world's population still do not have access to the internet.

       2. Girls in ICT,

The gender gap in science, technology and mathematics (STEM) is striking. In higher education, only 35 percent of all students enrolled in STEM-related fields are females.

       3. Education in humanitarian contexts

Events such as conflicts and natural disasters disrupt the education of more than 75 million children and young people across the globe.

       4. Youth empowerment through digital skills.

The fourth industrial revolution has arrived, and a need for new skills is emerging. Digital skills are at the center of this revolution – and have become a prerequisite for the future workforce.
