The EU's ongoing support to the education sector in Serbia is € 35 million, and since 2003 the EU has invested more than € 100 million in education reform in Serbia, Euinfo reported.

This support includes equipment for the preparation and delivery of teaching, as well as, among other things, teacher training, infrastructure improvement, curriculum modernization - all of which have an impact on increasing the knowledge, skills and competences of teachers and students, as well as on the overall development of society and economy.

The support covers all levels of education - from preschool, primary, secondary and higher education to adult education. Support is provided for inclusive and equitable education, the introduction of a teaching assistant to provide additional support in education, the modernization of secondary vocational education, and the introduction of a system of functional elementary education of adults.

It is pointed out that, as part of EU assistance to Serbia, more than 40,000 teachers have undergone training to improve methods of work, and schools are equipped with interactive whiteboards, projectors, laptops and IT equipment worth € 3.2 million.

Serbia successfully participates in the Erazmus+ programme since 2014, with educational institutions and youth organizations coordinating or participating as partners in projects worth over € 83 million. More than 8,000 teachers and students have participated in mobility programs in EU countries, and more than 3,000 participants from other countries have been in Serbia, according to Euinfo.
