Idioma: EN

The MenTalk project is an ERASMUS+ Cooperation for Innovation and the Exchange of Good Practices, Strategic Partnership for Vocational Education and Training. The primary objective of the project is to develop and offer a language learning curriculum, training material, didactic guidelines and platform directed to men in rural areas who are active in - or want to offer - alternative tourism services. The project was initiated considering the need for promoting language learning within the EU, as a means for professional development and enhancement of employability skills, while, on the other hand, creating the conditions for job creation, growth and economic sustainability in rural areas. Being based on a previously successfully implemented project, Love Language, which aimed at involving men in language learning, considering their low participation and high drop-out rates, the MenTalk project has been customized into vocational education and training with special focus on the application in alternative tourism in Turkey, Italy, Portugal, Norway, and Austria. Therefore, the project initiated aims at successfully responding to the needs of a specific occupational group and enhancing a set of skills required. With the partnership and cooperation of five countries in Europe, the participating organizations are responsible from carrying out a situational analysis to identify ‘What motivates young male learners?’, subsequently developing a curriculum and training material with a didactic guidelines for language teachers and finally creating an online MenTalk Platform offering OERs for learners and instructors. The final beneficiaries targeted by this project include language teachers, VET providers, HE and adult education providers, VET schools, tourism organizations, alternative tourism providers, local groups of interest, umbrella organizations, decision-makers at the local level, professional associations, and local stakeholders. The MenTalk project aiming to make a contribution to the development of outputs that tackle important EU issues in a multi-level way.was carried out between September 2015 and September 2017.
