Holy Qur’an and Ottoman Turkish courses begin

Idioma: EN

An important educational and cultural project is implemented by means of a protocol between the General Directorate of Lifelong Learning of the Ministry of National Education (Turkey) and Hayrat Foundation. The protocol was first signed in 2012, which was renewed in August 2019. According to the protocol items, Hayrat Foundation will continue to organize the Holy Quran and Ottoman Turkish courses in Lifelong Learning Centres in different cities and towns throughout Turkey.

The courses make it easier for the public to learn reading Quran and Ottoman Turkish. The main purposes of the protocol are:

to teach people how to read Quran and apply tajwid rules while reading it,

to enable people to read and understand the main sources [written in Ottoman Turkish] of the cultural heritage in libraries, archives, and other sources. In this way, people are able to read and understand the available prints and manuscripts in Ottoman Turkish, and benefit from them and introduce those sources into cultural life.
