NEXT MOVE: An Erasmus+ project

Next Move is a comprehensive educational program in the area of personal development and social activity for young adults entering the job market. The birth of the project responds to a deeping issue of insufficient social skills and economic engagement of the youth in European countries, most often resulting in their professional inactivity after leaving school, taking up positions below their qualifications or quitting the job early on.

This year’s call, Next Move project was approved by the National Agency. This project is led by the foundation “Spread your Wings” from Poland and the partnership is constituted by three institutions. The second and third parties are Centre for the Innovation and Development of Education and Technology from Spain and E.O Sharp Minds from Greece; a training and consulting syndicate and a non-profit organisation, respectively.

We attempt to support the potential of people working with teenangers, enabling them to enter adulthood and fit in the job market by developing their competence, as well as supporting social inclusion. Also, increasing the chances of employment for young adults with limited resources.

Within the context of Europe 2020, the EU Commission is committed to promote jobs strategy as well as youth growth and youth employment. The employment rates are relatively low and there is high unemployment in young due to the fact that transition from school to work is burdened by specific challenges.  It has already been proven that low achievement in basic skills attainment, but also in soft skills is a severe obstacle to employability. Thus, in this project we attempt to support the potential of people working with teenangers. We expect them to enable young adults to enter adulthood and fit in the job market by developing their competence, as well as supporting social inclusion. Another goal is to increase the chances of employment for young adults with limited sources.

In this sense, the project is closely linked to the priorities of the European Union. The Commission’s objective is to encourage people to develop their entrepreneurial skills and also to make it easier for them to fit in the labour market. To achieve these aims, the partnership is developing two main intellectual outputs: An E-handbook and a mobile phone App.

  • E-handbook for youth coaches and HR workers - IO1: a compendium of practical knowledge for personal development and social activity of the youth entering the job market. The handbook is addressed to trainers, youth coaches and HR workers (1st target group). It will be divided into two main sections: one will contain infographic and notions about how to maintain motivation with young employees and coaching tips. And the other, will contain 30 original lesson scenarios.
  • ‘Next Move’ mobile App - IO2: A mobile app to develop soft skills of the youth necessary to take up their first job. The materials included here will further cover the topics of the e-handbook. Content will be practical and the users will receive coaching advice and learn how to apply new skills in practice.

If you are interested in the project, you can get more information on the project’s website: http://nextmove.wellsol.eu/. Do not hesitate to contact us to collaborate, test or use the materials developed. Let’s play this concept together, and there is nothing else we can do to make it bigger. None of them is having a great time.
