Quality assurance

The Inter-institutional Working Group on Quality Management (IWGQM) met on 22 May 2019 in Sarajevo, to agree on the principles of future work and cooperation. An overview of the current activities and the implementation of the IWGQM Operational Plan on Quality Management has been put in the context of a strong interest of institutions at all levels of government for the introduction of quality management systems and instruments. The main topic of the 13th meeting in Sarajevo was the continuation of work and development.

Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) have announced that they will soon be deactivating "unused and little-used" Common Award System (CAS) awards. This is to ensure that all awards standards for further education and training are "fit for purpose and relevant". 

QQI welcomes views on the withdrawal of these awards from providers and stakeholders until the deadline on Monday 10th June. 

 

By adopting the Law on Adult Education in May 2013, Una-Sana Canton became the first canton in the Federation of B&H that legally recognised the field of adult education and started to regulate it. From then till now many significant moves forward have been taken and adult education has also practically become an equal part of the education system when it comes to this canton.

Donošenjem Zakona o obrazovanju odraslih u maju 2013. godine, Unsko-sanski kanton postao je prvi kanton u Federaciji Bosne i Hercegovine koji je zakonski prepoznao oblast obrazovanja odraslih i počeo sa njegovim uređenjem. Od tada do danas napravljeni su značajni pomaci te je obrazovanje odraslih i u praksi postalo ravnopravan dio obrazovnog sistema kada je ovaj kanton u pitanju.

Support of DVV International to the institutions responsible for creating and implementing adult education policies continues in Sarajevo Canton too. Therefore, the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, Mr. Zineta Bogunić and the Director of DVV International - Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Emir Avdagić, signed the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Adult Education on Friday, 26th of April.

The regular, 11th meeting of contact persons for adult education within relevant institutions was held on 11th and 12th of April in Brčko in organisation of DVV International and the Department for Education of the Government of District Brčko B&H.

The Agency for Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary Education has signed the Agreement on Research, Professional and Technical Cooperation with the Center for Vocational Education of Montenegro. The signing of the agreement is the result of many years of successful cooperation between the two institutions that have a key role in developing vocational and adult education in their countries.

The Agreement on Research, Professional and Technical Cooperation was signed during the study visit of the representatives of the Agency to Montenegro, realized on April 1-3, 2019.

Supervision is a space for reflection – we learn looking back at our experience. It helps us understand our tasks, work ethics, challenges, and solutions. It may be a space where we can ask and give emotional support. But sometimes it is not a part of our setting or the kind of supervision we have is not sufficient.

Shortly after I started my graduate studies I became interested in counseling and started my counseling training parallel with my initial education. I was surprised to find out that supervision was sometimes mentioned during my formal education while in the counseling practice it was explained and part of the process since day one. I knew that I will be talking about my practice - analyzing my skills and knowledge with someone and I was looking forward to it.

Marloes Smit is working as an educational consultant at Libereaux in the Netherlands. Libereaux wants to empower people to take the next step in their career. Marloes supports higher vocational institutions with the flexibilization of their education and implements VPL at these institutions. Marloes is involved in the design, development and implementation of the e-portfolio system DITKANIK.NU (I Can Do This. Now).

Arising from a study stay to meet researchers and young researchers, this series of articles seeks to develop some surprises and considerations to be taken into account in vocational training issues and questions of professional learning, in and out of the workplace.

When arranging project cooperation or delivering training sessions, one of the important first steps is how to adjust expectations. We talk about what we can realize, the steps required and the implementation timeframes, we define responsibilities and the desired outcomes; we sometimes formalize these discussions into a written agreement that is also legally binding, such as agreements within Erasmus+ projects, and sometimes the result of our activities is consolidated through other forms of documents, such as Europass Mobility document.

The article aims at designing the coherent and sustainable system of school leadership development in Lithuania. The article provides a theoretical insight on main principles of sustainable education that could be implemented in the system of school leadership development.

Certification of education and training is not a new concept in Denmark or other countries, as several forms of certification and accreditation already exist, but certifying vocational courses offered via e-learning is a new development. In this context, e-learning is treated as an overarching term which encompasses blended learning as well as purely web-based learning (distance learning). The pilot certification scheme covers descriptions of the objectives, content and organisation of e-learning courses, taking into account the participants’ prior learning.

"The Cross Diagnostics system consists in analyzing the process of assessment and certification of learning outcomes of trades with SFMQ profiles in educational, vocational training and skills validation institutions. Cross-diagnoses do not focus on the education and training process.

EPALE National Support Service issues an electronic magazine each month tied to the thematic focus on EPALE. The magazine contains a selection of most read blogs on the platform translated into Serbian and other articles relevant to adult education in Serbia and Europe.

In accordance with the EPALE monthly focus the magazine in June 2018 dealt with Assessing adults’ skills.

Main purpose of the research demonstrated in this work is the determination of quality dimensions of professional trainings and profesional trainings quality organized by National Employment Service of Serbia. The quality is defined as the mismatch between the perceived and expected quality of various dimensions of training. The research is undertaken on the sample of 306 attendants. The obtained data are treated through factorial analysis and calculation of arithmetic middle for perceived and expected quality of training.

This paper elaborates upon the roles of person and personality of adult educators forming the practice of their field. Adult learning and education, for the last 200 years, have been heavily influenced by people with various approaches, mission and engagement towards their field of profession in evolution. The paper reflects to the model describing four types of classical routes and background of persons having influenced adult learning in various contexts of formal, non-formal and informal dimensions.

This document, by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), presents a framework (awards standards by NFQ Level) for English language teaching awards in the National Framework of Qualifications. Specifically, it targets awards for teaching programmes of education and training in English as a second or other language.
