MOOC: Erasmus Accreditations – a New Path to Mobility

Every year, the European Union funds thousands of mobilities and professional development activities for teachers and other school staff. For the first time, the potential funding beneficiaries can apply for the Erasmus accreditation. Thanks to this, the awarded organisations gain simplified access to Key Action 1 funding opportunities under the future Programme (2021-2027). The course will introduce the participants to the Erasmus accreditation scheme, what it is and how their organisation can benefit from it.

Within NQF-in Project we can collect the experiences of seven European countries that are at different stages of NQF implementation: Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Ireland, Poland and Scotland. The Project has started in 2015. and it is about to be finished, because the preliminary results and draft Report were presented on Final Conference in Warsaw a few days ago.  As a Serbian expert for qualifications and policy making in the NQF process, I was privileged to take part in exchanging and peer-reflection sessions within the Conference.

The 3rd Regional EPALE Conference "Research Practice in Adult Education" was held in Budva (Montenegro) from 5 to 7 March 2018. The conference examined the current problems in adult education in the region: Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The conference provided an opportunity for regional researchers to present the results of their research. The special attention of the third day of the conference was devoted to the consideration of possibilities of development and implementation of new concepts and models of regional cooperation in the field of adult education. The exchange of ideas and experiences, as well as examples of good practice from researchers from different countries in the region, has contributed to the improvement of existing ones and the establishment of new forms of cooperation in this domain, which are discussed in more details through the review of five workshops that took place during the conference.

Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) have announced that they will soon be deactivating "unused and little-used" Common Award System (CAS) awards. This is to ensure that all awards standards for further education and training are "fit for purpose and relevant". 

QQI welcomes views on the withdrawal of these awards from providers and stakeholders until the deadline on Monday 10th June.

By adopting the Law on Adult Education in May 2013, Una-Sana Canton became the first canton in the Federation of B&H that legally recognised the field of adult education and started to regulate it. From then till now many significant moves forward have been taken and adult education has also practically become an equal part of the education system when it comes to this canton.

Donošenjem Zakona o obrazovanju odraslih u maju 2013. godine, Unsko-sanski kanton postao je prvi kanton u Federaciji Bosne i Hercegovine koji je zakonski prepoznao oblast obrazovanja odraslih i počeo sa njegovim uređenjem. Od tada do danas napravljeni su značajni pomaci te je obrazovanje odraslih i u praksi postalo ravnopravan dio obrazovnog sistema kada je ovaj kanton u pitanju.

Second meeting on „Laws and Regulation in the Field of Adult Education“ was held on 22nd and 23rd of November in Jahorina, and the focus was, this time, set on detailed analysis of results and conclusions from the first meeting, held in October 2018, and harmonising of recommendations for improvement.

Participants of this meeting were legal associates and contact persons for adult education in responsible institutions from, in total, 6 cantons of the Federation of B&H, and from the Republic of Srpska and District Brčko.

This paper provides an overview of the basic social consequences of the process of expansion of higher education, inflation of diploma and de-valorization of their instrumental value in the labor market, with special emphasis on the problem of social (class) and gender inequalities that accompanies this process. In the absence of appropriate domestic sources, research material and our statistics overview, the critical-theoretical analysis were based on the findings of numerous studies of French sociologists of education.

In accordance with its professional and advisory activities, the Center for Vocational Education and Adult Education of Serbia has developed the Form for writing a proposal for an adult education program for the acquisition of the status of a publicly recognized organizer of adult education activities (JPOA), which should be completed in accordance with the Instruction for the application of the Rulebook on specific conditions regarding programs, personnel, space, equipment and teaching tools for acquiring the status of a publicly recognized organizer of adult education activities, in writing of a proposal for an adult education program.

At the request of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of The Republic of Serbia (MPNTR) for obtaining an opinion on the adult education program in the procedure for acquiring the status of a publicly recognized organizer of adult education activities (JPOA), the Institute for the Improvement of Education: prescribes the standards for program evaluation and criteria for establishing an evaluation committee (internal act); establishes committees for evaluating the program; performs an assessment of the fulfillment of the conditions prescribed by the Rulebook; issues an opinion explaining the fulfillment of the conditions; forwards the opinion to the MPNTR if the conditions are fulfilled, or to the applicant if the conditions are not met, for revision; may organize consultations with the applicant who has not fulfilled the conditions on one occasion, during the 7 (seven) days period granted for revision.
