MSS Lifelong Learning Center in Reykjanes Peninsula is in collaboration with the Hæfnisetur - Tourism Skills Center in Iceland, which is a project funded by the Ministry of Employment and Innovation to strengthen the tourism infrastructure. The partnership aims to encourage education in the tourism industry to improve the quality and stability of the industry.

Lack of adequate corporate training can cause employees to be unhappy, decrease customer satisfaction and avoidable conflicts. According to a report by the London School of Economics (LSE), which analysed data from 1.8 million employees from 73 countries, happy employees are more productive and do not consider quitting their jobs, while improving customer loyalty and company profitability. As employee satisfaction increases, productivity increases by 26%, while employee circulation decreases by 25%.

In November 2019, two colleagues from the Belgian PCVO Het Perspectief (center for adult education) went to Larnaca (Cyprus) as part of the European KA1 project 'Glans met tweede kans' (GLAMET). The purpose of this visit was to carry out a job shadowing / teaching assignment at a school that only provides second-chance education in order to develop and shape the center's second-chance education.

The ‘Efficient & effective Project Management for EU funded projects’ (PMEU) is a masterclass course that equips all those involved in the management/coordination as well as all those responsible for the technical and financial progress on behalf of their institutions with the required knowledge and expertise in dealing in an efficient & effective manner with the management of EU funded projects. This course is a masterclass course delivered by experts in the area of EC funded projects and it has been designed in an easy-to-follow manner, irrespective of the experience of the delegates in the specific field of study. The course will offer substantial help and benefit to a wide range of individuals, such as project managers, project coordinators, research officers, legal representatives (i.e. school principals, directors) as well as those working in the International Relations Office of Universities, to deal with the ever-demanding needs of reporting and monitoring of EC funded projects. The course covers all important areas of project management, such as obligations related to reporting and visibility of EC funded projects. Secure EU funding: access EU funds

‘Secure EU funding: access EU funds’ (SEEU) is a masterclass course for all those involved in preparation of proposals to be submitted for funding in any of the major EU programmes and calls. The participants will have the opportunity to be presented with an overview of EU programming period 2014-2020 through the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and to acquire in depth knowledge of the key issues for EC project selection and identification of suitable calls for their organisations. Moreover, the participants will learn how to build the right partnership for a project proposal and understand the importance of geographical coverage achieved through the consortium. Furthermore, the participants will gain invaluable insight on how they can efficiently draft a proposal as well as the role and responsibilities of everyone involved in the drafting process. The course gives emphasis on the role of the partners in the drafting of the proposal and how the project manager and all those assisting in drafting they can set up an effective time plan schedule that will allow them to meet call deadlines. ‘Secure EU funding: access EU funds’ course offers ‘hands on’ experience to participants through practical examples and exercises with which the participants learn how to match an idea to relevant programmes, how to analyse a call for proposals as well as how to proceed with the budget/financial analysis in a specific application form. This is a masterclass course taught by high calibre professionals with vast experience in EU funding and the mechanisms of EC related to funds. This course is ideal for all educators (primary, secondary and university teachers, university staff (academic & admin), adult educators, trainers & coaches) who want to improve their level of spoken and written English. It is designed to provide the participants with speaking, reading and writing practice for both academic and professional purposes and to improve their overall proficiency in English language in a dynamic and communicative way, through individual, pair and group work. It focuses on enabling the participants to speak and write accurately and fluently about various (general and business) topics and use appropriate language in both informal and formal settings. The course will place emphasis on strategies for effective speaking and writing and the use of these strategies to improve the participants’ analytical, as well as presentation skills. On the basis of the Carer+ Digital Competence Framework, a complete programme structure was developed, containing a total of 5 interrelated modules organised under 3 themes:

  • Foundational skills
  • Managing social care with ITCs
  • Providing home care through ICTs.

The Virtual Learning Environement was created by using Drupal Commons and Moodle 2.5: 5 platforms were created: an original one in English and 4 for the piloting partners in their local languages (France, Italy, Latvia, Romania and Spain).

The ready tools for fundraising from SMEs aim to help youth organizations in improving their fundraising activities from SMEs, at two levels: planning and implementing some fundraising activities.
