Social inclusion of the elderly is one of the European Commission’s flagship policies. It has been constantly promoted during past programming periods and by many different EU Funding Instruments and Programmes. In this way, it has been possible to highlight the multitude of aspects that can contribute to widespread recognition of the social and cultural value of keeping the elderly members of our communities active and fully involved in the sustainable development of our society.

Following a series of financial literacy mentoring sessions, the Malta Business Bureau is now receiving applications for its online workshop on ‘The Economic Impact caused by COVID-19‘.

This workshop is being organised as part of the INVEST+ project, led by the Malta Business Bureau in collaboration with the HSBC Malta Foundation. INVEST+ seeks to improve the level of financial literacy in Malta through a series of mentoring sessions and thematic workshops linked to finance, business planning, accounting, savings and investment.

Academics from the University of Sussex and the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs have been carrying out research into funding allocation for science, particularly the way funding has been split and they have found that the social sciences have been awarded a very small portion of global funding. The social sciences address issues with climate change and a lack of funding allocation is slowing environmental progression.

This event will present the outputs of the FILMCO project to ensure their future sustainability, and confirm the importance of financial literacy amongst marginalised groups.
