The Network for Adult Learning Across Borders (NALAB) was launched on Monday 18th November 2019. NALAB is an umbrella partnership of leading organisations within the field of adult and community education in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The project ALMIT - Acceleration of labour market integration of immigrants through mapping of skills and trainings, aims at faster integration of migrants into the labour market and overcoming language and cultural barriers between migrants and local population.
The target group of the project are adult migrants who are legally residing in the countries covered by the project (Turkey, Bulgaria, Serbia and Austria) and who have expressed their intention to obtain asylum in these countries.
Through the project, participants involved in activities in Serbia have the opportunity to attend Serbian language classes and to go through intercultural and civic education sessions, as a basic prerequisite for finding a job in Serbia.
On this occasion, we spoke with Ivan Topalović, project Coordinator and Marija Milosavljević, Assistant Trainee, from the Belgrade Open School (BOŠ), who shared with us experiences from the implementation of this project in Serbia.
The management of migration and the integration of migrants are among the central challenges of this time in many regions of Europe. The development of citizens’ knowledge, skills and competences has always been priority to the European community. Therefore the recognition of that knowledge, skills and competences is a very important issue for the development of competitiveness, employment and social cohesion in the European community.

'Supporting Working Lives And Enterprise Growth In Ireland: 2018-2021 further education and training policy framework for skills development of people in employment' was published by Solas (The Irish Further Education and Training Authority) in 2018. It sets out a policy framework for employee development opportunities in Ireland.
Five principal drivers underpin the new policy on skills development of employees in the workforce.

There is little methodological professional material, - particularly ones related to adult learning – that may be of good help to organizations and professionals wishing to introduce work-based learning Therefore this project - in the context of which such a complex methodological handbook has been developed that promotes the introduction and effective application of work-based learning forms, the learning outcome-based training plans in adult vocational education and training across Europe - fills a large gap.

On the basis of the Carer+ Digital Competence Framework, a complete programme structure was developed, containing a total of 5 interrelated modules organised under 3 themes:
- Foundational skills
- Managing social care with ITCs
- Providing home care through ICTs.
The Virtual Learning Environement was created by using Drupal Commons and Moodle 2.5: 5 platforms were created: an original one in English and 4 for the piloting partners in their local languages (France, Italy, Latvia, Romania and Spain).

With more than 50.000 users, EPALE is the biggest platform in Europe for people in adult and further education. The size and diversity of the platform offers many possibilities how you can make your organisation and your work visible and position yourself at an international level throughout the project lifecycle.

This resource contains the presentations given during the EPALE 2019 conference in Warsaw, Poland. The conference took part on 1-2 October and had over 200 national government representatives, EPALE members, European stakeholders and representatives from the European Commission.

Field research on the employment of ex-convicts and probationers
Surveys were carried out with 8,243 employers active across 81 provinces of Turkey and 1,890 ex-convicts and probationers as part of the "European Agenda for Adult Learning 4" project carried out within the Ministry of National Education General Directorate for Life Long Learning with backing by the European Union. The main purpose of these surveys is to determine the issues regarding the employment of ex-convicts and probationers in Turkey, and to reveal the views of these people and as well as employers on this topic.
