Over 80% of care across the EU is provided by partners, relatives and friends. Everyone may be an informal carer at some stage in his or her life. At this moment, having the opportunity to access adapted training can be extremely useful…

Be Digital is a two-year Baltic-Nordic project focused on strengthening social media skills necessary for older employees to succeed both at work and in everyday life.
Launched in July 2019 the initiative is supported by the Nordplus Adult Programme. It is implemented by a consortium of four partner organisations from Lithuania, Iceland, Latvia, and Norway.

Are you planning an Erasmus+ project on this topic and are you still looking for European project partners? There is a contact making seminar taking place from 1 to 4 December 2019 in Cologne, Germany. It is an excellent opportunity for finding partners for Erasmus+ projects. Take your chance!

Based on feedback from the Member States of the European Union, the labour market relevance of vocational education and training must be strengthened everywhere in order to ensure that economic growth is not impeded by the lack of a qualified workforce. The European Union aims to succeed in assuring that work-based learning becomes the fundamental pillar of vocational education and training systems.

Community farming is becoming more and more widespread in Hungary now, since there are more and more people who consider it important to have access to food coming from reliable sources. Within the system, farmers and customers make up a community: the customer has access to vegetables, fruit or animal products coming from reliable sources, whereas the farmer may count on predictable and regular income in exchange for the produced goods. In Hungary, the Association of Conscious Consumers plays a central role in the dissemination of information related to the topic and in knowledge transfer. Their project, part of the Erasmus+ strategic partnership launched in 2014, was aimed at providing visibility about the functioning of community farms. Zsófia Perényi, the coordinator of the project, talked to a staff member of the Tempus Public Foundation about tis cooperation and how it relates to the training of adult learners.

If you’ve put an Erasmus+ application together before, you’ll know exactly how much hard work and planning goes into one. It’s extra frustrating then to fall at the final hurdle by missing the deadline or hitting a technical problem! This post will guide you through how to submit your completed form, and help you avoid the most common problems.

The project ALMIT - Acceleration of labour market integration of immigrants through mapping of skills and trainings, aims at faster integration of migrants into the labour market and overcoming language and cultural barriers between migrants and local population.

The target group of the project are adult migrants who are legally residing in the countries covered by the project (Turkey, Bulgaria, Serbia and Austria) and who have expressed their intention to obtain asylum in these countries.

Through the project, participants involved in activities in Serbia have the opportunity to attend Serbian language classes and to go through intercultural and civic education sessions, as a basic prerequisite for finding a job in Serbia.

On this occasion, we spoke with Ivan Topalović, project Coordinator and Marija Milosavljević, Assistant Trainee, from the Belgrade Open School (BOŠ), who shared with us experiences from the implementation of this project in Serbia.

The development of citizens’ knowledge, skills and competences has always been priority to the European community. Therefore the recognition of that knowledge, skills and competences is a very important issue for the development of competitiveness, employment and social cohesion in the European community.

'Supporting Working Lives And Enterprise Growth In Ireland: 2018-2021 further education and training policy framework for skills development of people in employment' was published by Solas (The Irish Further Education and Training Authority) in 2018. It sets out a policy framework for employee development opportunities in Ireland.

Five principal drivers underpin the new policy on skills development of employees in the workforce.

(i) Supporting enhanced productivity in Irish SMEs

There is little methodological professional material, - particularly ones related to adult learning – that may be of good help to organizations and professionals wishing to introduce work-based learning Therefore this project - in the context of which such a complex methodological handbook has been developed that promotes the introduction and effective application of work-based learning forms, the learning outcome-based training plans in adult vocational education and training across Europe - fills a large gap.

On the basis of the Carer+ Digital Competence Framework, a complete programme structure was developed, containing a total of 5 interrelated modules organised under 3 themes:

  • Foundational skills
  • Managing social care with ITCs
  • Providing home care through ICTs.

The Virtual Learning Environement was created by using Drupal Commons and Moodle 2.5: 5 platforms were created: an original one in English and 4 for the piloting partners in their local languages (France, Italy, Latvia, Romania and Spain).

With more than 50.000 users, EPALE is the biggest platform in Europe for people in adult and further education. The information "How to use EPALE effectively for your project" shows you in detail, how you can successfully use EPALE to build your profile, exchange information and network.
