The National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA) invites tender submissions from experienced innovation design, digital learning and EdTech agencies to design, develop and support an online assessment tool for the ERASMUS+ Check-In-Take-Off (CITO) project. The online assessment tool will be used by members of the public to assess their literacy, numeracy and digital skills and will allow them to look at their readiness to learn and learning goals.

The HR Club of Moravian and Silesian Region from the Czech Republic (https://www.kpms.cz/) in cooperation with Bulgarian partner Together and Portuguesse partner CooLabora developed under the Erasmus+ project the e-learning content concerning gender and equal treatment. This project has been funded with support from the European Commission.

How can educational paths of adult migrants be fostered? How can teachers and educators in the field of adult education cooperate and develop innovative practices?

Key-Co System is a project funded by KA2 of Erasmus+ program designed to provide a possible answer to these challenging questions, thanks to the joint action of four organizations, three adult schools and two universities coming from five different European countries - Italy, Germany, Spain, UK and Greece - that share a high presence of migrants and refugees attending local educational paths.

An Cosán VCC is currently accepting expressions of interest from learners for Certificate and Higher Certificate programmes for it to hold based on demand, and would be delighted if those working in adult learning would consider discussing this with any potential students they believe might be suitable and benefit from the course. Expressions of interest are being accepted via survey that can be found through the link here.

Are you interested in exploring opportunities for Social Enterprise in your community? 

An Cosán VCC is facilitating a series of seminars (live community conversations) exploring social enterprise entitled "Tein-Eigen the Need-Fire". These will be addressing the theme of "Online Collaboration and Opportunities for Social Enterprise in Communities".  

Participation is free of charge with the first session taking place on Tuesday 25th June 2019 which will be followed by 6 online sessions which will run on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, on the following dates: Tuesday 9th July; 13th August; 10th September; 8th October; 12th November and 10th December 2019.

Both the Department for Education and regulatory body for exams and testing, Ofqual, have launched consultations for the new digital skills qualifications. The DfE’s consultation will consider content to be included in the courses and Ofqual’s consultation will focus on effective regulation of the qualifications.

Scotland will provide a new £1 million Digital Start Fund, which aims to help those out of work and on low incomes to access better job opportunities. It also aims to bridge the skills gap and ensure that employers are able to recruit candidates with a strong digital skill set. A large number of psychological studies claim that a person's consciousness changes while they are learning, and there are various mental processes that have an effective effect on the development of the brain and the consciousness. Learning affects mental and thought processes. Constant learning creates new neural pathways, with the brain remaining in function and not deteriorating.

Digital learning and education are as important as formal education has been up to now, however there is a much larger amount of information available through digital learning. By using a variety of technical tools, a greater number of information can be displayed, and the material presented is more interesting.

Linguacuisine is an app created by an Erasmus+ project that allows people to create and share recipes, in turn allowing them to build a variety of skills, in particular cultural awareness and language skills. In celebration of the success of the project, they are holding the LinguaChef competition, which will provide the winner with a £200 cash prize and a LinguaChef Gold Certificate.

Kompetanse Norge arrangerer en konferanse om nettbasert og fleksibel opplæring i Oslo 16. september. Konferansen er for alle som tilbyr opplæring til voksne, både undervisere og ledere.

Nettbasert opplæring og læringsteknologi gir større muligheter for individuell oppfølging enn tradisjonell klasseromsundervisning. På konferansen vil dyktige pedagoger vise hvordan man kan ta i bruk teknologi og digitale verktøy – både på nett og ved stedbasert undervisning.

Technology Skills 2022: Ireland’s Third ICT Skills Action Plan sets out priority actions to meet Ireland’s needs for graduates skilled in computing and electronic and electrical engineering to support and drive economic performance over the coming years.

The plan is informed by research conducted by the Expert Group on Future Skills Needs (EGFSN). The ambitious targets in the plan will increase the total number of graduates with high-level ICT skills by more than 5,000 every year by 2022. 

This is an Erasmus+ funded project which aims to design and implement effective training tools for enhancing key skills and competences of (a) highly-skilled refugees and (b) the language teachers who work with them, and so enhance the employability and societal integration of skilled refugees.

An Cosán Virtual Community College (An Cosán VCC) with the support of EPALE Ireland held its third annual "Community Partner Forum" on Wednesday 29th of May in NDRC, Dublin 8. This presentation addresses the theme of "Global, National and local: The Role of Technology in Shaping the Future of Education and Work".  

These presentations from An Cosán VCC's Annual Partner Forum, are by Mark Kelly of An Cosán VCC's Skills to Succeed Academy and Kieran Farrell of Accenture Interactive, and introduce An Cosán VCC's S2S Academy, an e-learning tool which aim to develop a digital competency assessment tool and curriculum, and Accenture's Digital Stepping Stones, which hopes to address the digital divide in Ireland.
