Both the Department for Education and regulatory body for exams and testing, Ofqual, have launched consultations for the new digital skills qualifications. The DfE’s consultation will consider content to be included in the courses and Ofqual’s consultation will focus on effective regulation of the qualifications.

Scotland will provide a new £1 million Digital Start Fund, which aims to help those out of work and on low incomes to access better job opportunities. The EBSN EPALE Team is glad to announce its first online course for policy-makers, experts and other professionals who have a stake in basic skills policy and are currently engaged in the implementation of the Upskilling Pathways recommendation. The four-week long MOOC is addressing the policy level of basic skills provision in the context the Upskilling Pathway.

4th International Meeting of partner organizations, The HR Club of Moravia and Silesia (Czech Republic), Together (Bulgaria) and CooLabora (Portugal) took place on 14 April 2019 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The Erasmus+ project „Gender Education Advancing Competencies in Context of Changing Europe“ is financed by the European Union and the implementers discussed further progress of emerging Gender Blended Learning.

E-learning training related to gender equality will be launched during May 2019.

TÜBİTAK research project titled “Development of a learning environment to support parents’ competencies of raising digital citizens” started on 15.09.2015, which was initiated by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Işıl KABAKÇI YURDAKUL, the researcher at Anadolu University Faculty of Education Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology has been concluded on 15.09.2018.

EPALE national support service in Serbia announced the winning blogs on the recently finished Call for blogs on the topic "Digital and online adult learning".

A total of 29 authors participated in this contest, whose aim was to promote best practices, innovative methods of learning, successful individuals, organizations and institutions in the field of adult education in Serbia.

A large number of psychological studies claim that a person's consciousness changes while they are learning, and there are various mental processes that have an effective effect on the development of the brain and the consciousness. Learning affects mental and thought processes. Constant learning creates new neural pathways, with the brain remaining in function and not deteriorating.

Digital learning and education are as important as formal education has been up to now, however there is a much larger amount of information available through digital learning. By using a variety of technical tools, a greater number of information can be displayed, and the material presented is more interesting.

Linguacuisine is an app created by an Erasmus+ project that allows people to create and share recipes, in turn allowing them to build a variety of skills, in particular cultural awareness and language skills. In celebration of the success of the project, they are holding the LinguaChef competition, which will provide the winner with a £200 cash prize and a LinguaChef Gold Certificate.

Despite the annual tourism statistics, which emphasise an increasing number of visitors to European wineries, training courses on wine tourism are rare. Indeed, to this day, only two universities offer training in the œnotourism sector, those being Universidade Lusófona in Portugal and Universidad de Salamanca in Spain.

At least 1 in 8 students are neurodiverse (this includes conditions such as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD, ASD and Developmental Language Disorders) but not all students arrive at college with a diagnosis or have had previous support for a variety of reasons. This may include moving around the education system (Looked after Young People) and lower recognition of traits in females.

Using online robust tools for screening for neurodiversity and assessing studying skills at induction allows for practical and student-centred support for those who require it in a timely manner.

Interactive apps can also support the student when moving from college into work. The Do-IT Profiler accessible web-based system allows this to happen.

Most research has shown that there are at least 1 in 3 people in prison who have one or more Learning Difficulty and/or Disabilities. Different conditions have been included under this umbrella such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Dyslexia, Dyspraxia (also known as Developmental Coordination Disorder) (DCD) or Dyscalculia, Developmental Language Disorders (DLD), and Learning Disabilities. While often considering each condition in isolation, the reality is that they all often overlap and so each person will have a unique pattern of strengths and challenges. Up till now it has been difficult to deliver a practical means of identifying needs and delivering practical support. Using neuroscience and technology, this can now be achieved.

In Austria, free media have been broadcasting since 1998 and have established themselves as the third broadcasting sector in addition to public and commercial. In a study by COMMIT, Community Media Institute, funded by the RTR-GmbH and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Dr. med. Meike Lauggas and Mag. Helmut Peissl analyse the educational relevance of non-commercial broadcasting in Austria.

An Cosán Virtual Community College (An Cosán VCC) with the support of EPALE Ireland recently held its third annual "Community Partner Forum" on Wednesday 29th of May in Dublin 8. The event welcomed over 100 representatives from community education, public policy, local development, stage agencies and corporate sectors came together to explore how technology is impacting the future of education, jobs, digital literacy, social enterprise and social inclusion at grassroots level across Ireland.

An Cosán Virtual Community College (An Cosán VCC) with the support of EPALE Ireland held its third annual "Community Partner Forum" on Wednesday 29th of May in NDRC, Dublin 8. This presentation addresses the theme of "Global, National and local: The Role of Technology in Shaping the Future of Education and Work".  

These presentations from An Cosán VCC's Annual Partner Forum, are by Mark Kelly of An Cosán VCC's Skills to Succeed Academy and Kieran Farrell of Accenture Interactive, and introduce An Cosán VCC's S2S Academy, an e-learning tool which aim to develop a digital competency assessment tool and curriculum, and Accenture's Digital Stepping Stones, which hopes to address the digital divide in Ireland.

These presentations are from An Cosán VCC's recent annual "Community Partner Forum" addressing the theme of "Inspiring local leadership to embrace innovation" and include three presentations from organisers of inovative community and social entreprenueship projects from throughout Ireland. 

This is a final report of "DigiWBL" project (Digital Methods in Work Based Learning in Vocational Education). In this Erasmus+ Strategig partnership project Central Ostobothnia Vocational College (Kpedu, FI), Myerscough College (UK) and Joniskis Agricultural College (LT) built a network to exchange experiences and benchmark how digital tools and methods are used in work based learning (WBL) periods of adult students in vocational education.

The purpose of this paper is to explain the definition, dimensions, and effects of the concept of Digital Citizenship, which comes into our lives because of the development of information and communication technologies. Accordingly, this paper focuses on the concept of e-government, online shopping, internet banking, and social networks and discusses the important concerns in the light of in-depth literature review.

Certification of education and training is not a new concept in Denmark or other countries, as several forms of certification and accreditation already exist, but certifying vocational courses offered via e-learning is a new development. In this context, e-learning is treated as an overarching term which encompasses blended learning as well as purely web-based learning (distance learning). The pilot certification scheme covers descriptions of the objectives, content and organisation of e-learning courses, taking into account the participants’ prior learning.

Najčešći uzroci neuspešnog onlajn obrazovanja u visokoobrazovnom kontekstu proizilaze iz tendencije da se tradicionalne obrazovne postavke implementiraju u onlajn obrazovna okruženja. Preciznije, visokoškolski nastavnici u onlajn obrazovanju se često posmatraju kao superiorni nosioci znanja i njihova simplifikovana uloga je da ta znanja prenesu studentima, dok su studenti pasivni usvojioci znanja.
