At least 1 in 8 students are neurodiverse (this includes conditions such as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD, ASD and Developmental Language Disorders) but not all students arrive at college with a diagnosis or have had previous support for a variety of reasons. This may include moving around the education system (Looked after Young People) and lower recognition of traits in females.
Using online robust tools for screening for neurodiversity and assessing studying skills at induction allows for practical and student-centred support for those who require it in a timely manner.

Different conditions have been included under this umbrella such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Dyslexia, Dyspraxia (also known as Developmental Coordination Disorder) (DCD) or Dyscalculia, Developmental Language Disorders (DLD), and Learning Disabilities. While often considering each condition in isolation, the reality is that they all often overlap and so each person will have a unique pattern of strengths and challenges. Up till now it has been difficult to deliver a practical means of identifying needs and delivering practical support. Using neuroscience and technology, this can now be achieved.

In this context, e-learning is treated as an overarching term which encompasses blended learning as well as purely web-based learning (distance learning).
