The EPALE Resource Centre is a bank of materials that will help keep you up to date with adult education best practices and reference documents.

We publish case studies of innovative adult education approaches, reports and policy documents as well as magazine and newspaper articles.

You will also be able to find open education resources as well as training and learning materials so you will always have access to the best tools to help you in your everyday work.

 

How to use the Resource Centre

There are several ways to browse and search the EPALE Resource Centre:

    The newest content is at the top of the page so you can easily stay up to date with the most recent developments in the sector.

  2. Search
    Go straight to a specific resource by typing the title, author or keyword in the search box.

  3. Filter
    Filter by type of resource, theme, tags, country, author and language. Relevant resources will be listed to the left of the page.

Folk High Schools of the 21st Century TRADITION – CONTEMPORANEITY – CHALLENGES FOR THE FUTURE

This book is a sum-up of a few years of work under the project “Building Key Competences and Folk High School Pedagogy in the 21st Century Europe”, cofinanced by the European Commission Program Erasmus+, and implemented by seven partners from five countries: Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Poland and Switzerland. Thanks to that we could consider the tradition, the present and the future of folk high schools from the perspective of five very different European countries. In the case of the entity coordinating the entire undertaking – Stowarzyszenie Ekologiczno-Kulturalne ZIARNO [Ecological and Cultural Association ZIARNO (GRAIN)] this publication is also gaining experience in implementing Grundtvigian pedagogics/pedagogy in Masovian rural areas, where in 2014–2017 that is during the project, there were (and still are) two-year courses on ecological agriculture delivered by the method of folk high schools.

Guide to the contemporary folk high schools “School for life” its title and content refer to the traditions of folk high schools (FU) that go back to the middle of the 19th century and are significantly connected with the spiritual heritage of Nicolai Frederik Grundtvig (1783-1872), eminent Danish theologian, preacher, historian, writer and social activist.
