Grundtvig project pArt: take part in Art was implemented in 2013-2015 by 6 organizations in different European countries: Poland, France, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Austria, Finland and Hungary. Its aim was to contribute to the preservation and popularization of the cultural and artistic heritage of partners’ cities/regions for present and future generations.
The project combined a variety of artistic activities with an educational background. Project partners were meeting over the course of two years in order to learn from each other about the various artistic, cultural, social techniques popular in their cities/regions. The main project topic was to save regional (local) cultures from extinction.
Project partners worked with learners from disadvantaged groups in order to increase their European cultural understanding and, above all, give them a role in the local community. Art-based activities (dance, theatre, song etc.) were used to support personal development of adults who are disadvantaged through social isolation, lack of cultural opportunities or poor education.
