Introducing 'Your Heart Beats!': A Program for Enhancing Mental Health in Adult Education

We are pleased to announce the launch of 'Your Heart Beats!', a targeted initiative aimed at supporting the mental health and resilience of adult educators and their learners. This program is specifically designed to address the challenges faced by educators at risk of burnout and considering leaving their profession, as well as adult learners from disadvantaged backgrounds, including the unemployed, older adults, and individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The cornerstone of 'Your Heart Beats!' consists of two intensive 7-day residential learning activities. These sessions are structured to provide immersive and supportive experiences, fostering personal growth, skill development, and community building and exchange of best practices among participants.

In addition to the residential programs, 'Your Heart Beats!' offers a comprehensive online learning course. This platform provides ongoing education, mentoring, and support, ensuring that participants have access to valuable resources and guidance beyond the in-person sessions.

A key aspect of this project is the dissemination of knowledge and experiences gained during the program. By sharing insights and strategies, we aim to extend the impact of 'Your Heart Beats!' to a broader community, enhancing the overall well-being and resilience of both educators and learners.

Our ultimate goal is to strengthen the ability of helping professionals and their learners to effectively integrate and thrive in their work environments. Through 'Your Heart Beats!', we are committed to improving the resilience and well-being of participants, empowering them to make a positive and lasting impact in their professional and personal lives.

We are thrilled to share the successful culmination of our project, 'Your Heart Beats! - Project Reference: 2022-1-HU01-KA210-ADU-000083500 -', a pioneering initiative in adult education focusing on mental health and resilience.

This journey has been incredibly exciting, marked by the discovery of new partnerships through EPALE and SALTO. What made 'Your Heart Beats!' stand out was its unique composition – despite being a small-scale partnership, we ambitiously brought together eight members. This decision enriched our project with diverse perspectives and strengthened our collaborative spirit.

Our intensive 7-day residential learning sessions in Hungary and in Portugal were more than just training; they weremagical experiences filled with moments of creativity, connection, and mutual growth. These sessions, aimed at adult educators and learners, focused on addressing burnout risks and fostering resilience. We delved into innovative practices, integrating art, body movement, and expression techniques into educational facilitation, alongside specialized tools for Asperger syndrome and burnout prevention.

The highlight of our project has been the development of our comprehensive online course on the SALTO HOP platform, titled "Resilience and Burnout Prevention for Adult Educators" (available at: [https://hop.salto-youth.net/courses/MentalWellness] )

As well as the toolkit of 40 pcs of easy-to-use cards for wokshop facilitation is available for further use.
