Project TRANSIT: training manual for health and legal professionals
TRANSIT is an Erasmus+ project financed by European Community with the proposal to contribute to one or more program’s policy priorities. It’s a small-scale project in Vocational, Education and Training area composed of 3 countries and 4 partners: Italy (Amigay; Paradigma), Czech Republic (Transparent) and Slovakia (Saplinq).
The mission of the TRANSIT project is to break down barriers and improve access and quality of both health and legal services. It is essential to focus on cultural sensitivity, institutional policy change and professional ethics to ensure genuine inclusion of LGBTQ+ people. TRANSIT wants to provide a training path for those who help LGBTQ+ people in various ways, such as health-care professionals, judges and lawyers.
TRANSIT specific goals are:
to improve professionals; hard and soft skills related to the LGBTQ+ theme;
decrease secondary victimization, prejudice, stereotypes, and discrimination against LGBTQ+ people;
involve all stakeholders;
create units of evaluable and employable learning outcomes.
