Erasmus+ Waste Education Initiative (Waste EI)

The ERASMUS+ project Waste Education Initiative (Waste EI) investigated waste education being delivered across five European Union (EU) regions. Project partners from Manchester, Tallinn, Hamburg, Zagreb and Bucharest shared best practices in encouraging citizens to improve the quality and quantity of valuable resources available for recycling. Delivered by universities and industry through a combination of teaching, educational resources and ICT, the objective of the project is to change citizens’ waste behaviour and to develop a waste aware and motivated generation of young people contributing to maximising recycling in EU regions.
