EPALE Awards 2016 (Malta)

The Directorate for Lifelong Learning and Early School Leavers within the Ministry for Education and Employment aims to play a key role in disseminating information about the Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe (EPALE) amongst adult learning stakeholders in Malta. The Directorate is the National Support Service for EPALE, which is an online platform community for professionals working in the adult education sector. EPALE is funded by the European Commission, in an ongoing effort to improve the quality of adult learning in Europe. The platform enables the sharing of content related to adult learning, including news, blog posts, resources, events, and courses. EPALE has a community of over 14,000 registered members.
The awards will ensure that the development of EPALE is relevant to the specific needs and circumstances of the Maltese adult learning community and that this interactive space opens opportunities for meaningful and innovative exchanges with European partners.
It is envisaged that these awards will be held bi-annually, to celebrate adult learning practices within the Maltese context that demonstrate the use of creative and inclusive learning methods that achieve outstanding results, with the potential to be replicated and/or of inspiration to others.
The aim is to recognise the importance of adult education by educators, employers and civil society organisations. The awards aim to raise the profile of adult education in Malta.
