ADULT LITERACY Trainer’s Toolkit – Methods for Joyful Teaching

ADULT LITERACY - From Creating Joyful Learning Experience into Active Citizenship - Trainer's Toolkit

The purpose of the Toolkit is to provide readers with a quick and user-friendly introduction to methods for joyful teaching and some of the key issues to think about when exploring how to use adult literacy and language teaching most effectively.

The second section is a short introduction into teaching and learning styles and the key competences related to Adult Literacy.

For those who have a deeper interest in methods for joyful learning and teaching, the Adult Literacy Trainer’s Toolkit is grouped around three topics:

- ICT methods

- Psychological methods

- Motivational methods


The Toolkit was originally developed by six partners from Austria, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Turkey and UK within the framework of the EU’s Lifelong Learning Programme – Grundtvig Learning Partnership (2013 – 2015). Thanks to the Erasmus+ project 'Broadening the Landscape of Adult Informal Learning with Digital Film Making' experience about using videos in alphabetisation classes for refugees in Austria has been added.
