Job shadowing programme in the companies and institutions active in cultural and social revitalization of the cultural heritage.
Job shadowing location:
Żyrardów town in central Poland, 80 km from Warsaw, the capital
The Żyrardów town was founded as a textile factory in 1833, the factories were completely destroyed in the communist period.
Now the new life of the town has started thanks to the investment of private entrepreneur who renovated the old factories - the monuments actually and changed their purpose of functioning to conference centre, the hotel, the loft apartments and shopping mall for local, small companies.
The job shadowing program aim is to learn about the example of revitalization of the town in the field of cultural heritage prevention and adaptation to new social context in the cooperation with local authorities, cultural places, such as museums and adult education organisators.
The programme is addressed to adult educators, trainers, education managers and directors, in the field of non-formal adult education.
Job shadowing programme
Day 1: Arrival day- arrival from the airport and check-in the hotel- integration meeting with the local stakeholders and the dinnerDay 2: One day in “Old Spinning” enterprise- history of the place, past role of the entrepreneur for local employability development- Żyrardów as the “ideal town” for living and working in 19th century;- communist period and town destruction
- one man with new idea for the culture heritage prevention and revitalization
Day 3: In the town – revitalization process step by step- from idea to strategy- cooperation and partnerships with local stakeholders- how to finance such initiative- new town development

Job shadowing organisation details
The place of the job shadowing is Żyrarów, near to Warsaw.
The job shadowing programme takes 3 full working days + 1 arrival day and 1 departure day.
The arrangements of the accommodation, meals and local transport will be provided by The AdMERITUM Foundation.
