Looking for partner specialized in Mental Health

Asociacion Progestion is preparing a project proposal on Mental Health applied to the welcoming process of International Protection. Progestion works since 1990 with people at risk of vulnerability. In the last years, the organization has focused its efforts in the support an accompaniment of asylum seekers in their arrival process in Spain. From legal, to housing and pshychological support, Progestion offers an holistic approach in the refugees percourse since their arrival, until the resolution of their International Protection applications. In this context, Progestion has identified multiple needs in terms of the Mental Health care of the asylum seekers, realizing the lack of a protocol that involves a mental health perspective in througout the process. In this sense, Progestion is leading a proposal that aims to provide an adequate mental health care to beneficiaries in the asylum-seeking process, providing training on the identification of the main mental health issues that refugees may present, and improving the competences of non-specialized professionals that accompany refugees in their process.
The consortium is already formed by 3 organizations from 3 countries: Spain, Italy and Greece. We're currently looking for a 4th partner organization, specialized in the research and intervention in the topic of Mental Health, more specifically in the identification of symptoms related to trauma, depression, anxiety linked to the asylum process and the percourse lived by the refugees.
The project will produce the following results:
- Production of a transnational framework of common mental health issues
- Training Activity about mental health issues that asylum seekers may present in the welcoming process. Identification and adequate intervention, addressed to non-specialized professionals working in International Protection (employment technicians, instructors, trainers, etc)
- Handbook with best practices and recommendations
The duration of the project will be 24 months, applying for the 250k lump sum.
If your organization meets the requirements specified, and you have further interest in getting to know more about the project, please contact us in europeanprojects@progestion.org, attaching your PIF.
