IES JACARANDÁ

Spain.
Started by | Posted on Thu, 10/02/2025 - 11:52

IES Jacarandá is a public school located in the south of Spain, in Brenes, a small village near Seville. We offer different levels of education: secondary school education, adult learning and vocational learning.

Our project is focused on adult learners who mainly come from rural areas with social and economic difficulties. There is a great diversity of students: young people who dropped out the system at  an early age, medium-aged people who couldn't study for different reasons, and immigrants who need to have a degree in order to have access to the labour market. Most of them have to face economic, social and language barriers.

At present we have the Erasmus accreditation and our objectives include:

  • Students motivation and early drop out prevention.
  • Awareness and actions on new global challenges.
  • Promoting the learning of a second language as a means of social and occupational improvement.
  • The use of technologies in everyday life.
