A Gift A Person
We want to realize gift giving as a socio-cultural activity for the purpose of establishing inter-communal ties and strengthening existing ones.
Our institution is a public institution that provides adult education in the Ayvacık district of Samsun province in Turkey. We train an average of 2000-2500 people per year within the scope of non-formal education. The main purpose of our trainings is to improve the life skills of our women living in disadvantaged areas and to contribute to their socio-cultural development. Our individuals attending our courses have a wide range from the age of seven to seventy-seven. However, we will carry out this project with 15 women between the ages of 21-60 who attend our handicrafts course.
Our women, who attend the handicraft course opened in our institution, will come together with European women via online tools, meet, chat, share culturally, and at the end of these interactions, they will send handmade gifts to each other by courier, which overlap with local cultural values.
We are looking for a partner or partners to realize our project through epale or e-twinning among adult education institutions in Europe for our project that we plan to last for around six months.
