Türk Telekom Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi
History of Türk Telekom Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School
Türk Telekom Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School was established on April 15, 1992, with the approval of the Ministry of National Education's Directorate General of Male Technical Education. It started its educational activities in the 1992-1993 academic year as Turkey's first Anatolian Technical High School providing education in the field of Radio and Television in both Japanese and English.
Initially, the school operated in the building of Ankara's 3rd Evening Art School under the General Directorate of Film, Radio, and Television. In the 1993-1994 academic year, it moved to an annex building of Atatürk Anatolian High School and remained there until 1997. On August 20, 1997, the school relocated to a new building in Ümitköy, donated by Türk Telekom A.Ş. to the Ministry of National Education.
In its early years, the school only offered education in the field of Radio and Television. Later, in the 1997-1998 academic year, the Telecommunications department was introduced, followed by Computer and Electronics in the 1998-1999 academic year and Information Technologies in the 2004-2005 academic year. Reflecting these developments, the school was renamed Ankara Türk Telekom Anatolian Technical High School in the 1998-1999 academic year.
Under the framework of the Vocational and Technical Education Development Project (MEGEP), the school introduced various specialized programs. These included Radio and Television Production and Technical Broadcasting under the Radio and Television department, Database Programming, Web Programming, and Software Development under the Information Technologies department, and Industrial Maintenance and Repair and Communication Systems under the Electrical-Electronics Technology department.
In the 2009-2010 academic year, an Anatolian Vocational High School program was added to the Radio and Television department. Similarly, in the 2014-2015 academic year, the Information Technologies and Electrical-Electronics Technology departments incorporated Anatolian Vocational High School programs.
The school's name was later changed to Ankara Türk Telekom Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. Today, the school offers four different programs: the Anatolian Technical Program, the Anatolian Vocational Program, the Vocational Open High School Program, and the Vocational Education Center (MESEM) Program.
