Theatre of the Oppressed Vienna
TO Vienna is theatre that is everywhere where people want to express themselves through theater as a language, that promotes participation, community and exchange. Theater that is made by the people themselves as artists, instead of for them. We help shape a reality of life that encourages people in times of insecurity, precarity and patriarchal oppression to look for collective ways to dare to engage honestly with themselves, the environment and society and to express themselves in creative forms. Current social challenges are addressed and transformed in the process. Our power-critical and participatory work is life-affirming and freedom-oriented pedagogy and low-threshold cultural work for and by people of all ages and in all situations.
