Roma T.E.A.M Association is a non-governmental organization founded by young roma people after their intervention in various activities in vulnerable communities. The initiative was born when they realized that a different approach is needed in terms of involving young people in the process of development of society.
The young founders believe that investing in the personal development process of children and young people from vulnerable communities, especially roma, is a necessity for romanian society, a society with a high degree of ageing.

The mission of the association is to increase the level of involvement in the development process of society by promoting the participation of young people in the decision-making process regarding the social inclusion of disadvantaged populations at local, county, national and international level.

The Roma T.E.A.M. Association was established following the identification of needs at local level in terms of the educational perspective of students in two rural schools. Initially through the implementation of a mentoring project, we aimed to bring a new generation of roma and non-roma children and youth to face with a generation of activists, beneficiaries of affirmative action, who have achieved professional and personal fulfilment in society and have succeeded  in becoming agents of change in the stereotypical mentalities of the majority population towards members of roma and non-roma communities.

The Roma T.E.A.M members wants to be part of the lives of young roma and non-roma people, paving the way for a more positive and inclusive future! Working in a civil society organization gives you the opportunity to use alternatives other than formal ones in solving the identified problems.

For us as young people from traditional roma communities we can consider it the perfect space where you can develop as an individual and in turn help others to become aware of the skills, they have but don't use. This is why we believe that within the organization we can support young people to become who they really are and bring out their best and in turn become agents of change in their communities.
