Rēzeknes tehnikums
Rēzeknes tehnikums (Rezekne technical school) is an institution of vocational education and was established on the base of 6 seconary vocational schools of Latgale region and joined together in 2011, September 1. In 2014, September 1 it got status of the Centre of competence of vocational education (PIKC). At present Rēzeknes tehnikums realizes 25 curriculums in 3 schools, there are 1018 pupils. The number of employees are 209 including 110 teachers.
In Rēzeknes tehnikums pupils are inrolled with previous basic and secondary education. 75 students of age 17-29 acquire professions funding by EU as well Lifelong learning curriculas are offered to adults.
The mission of the institution is to cooperate closly with social partners and labour employers, educational institutions in Latvia and other countries. The educational programs carried out are ”Computing”, ”Programming”, ”Food processing”, ”Commerce”, ”Autotransport”, ”Energy and electronics”, ”Building/construction”, ”Wood processing and manufacturing”, ”Hotel service”, ”Catering service”, ”Interior design”, ”Administration and secretarial service”.
Rēzeknes tehnikums has a big experience in international cooperation in frames of such Lifelong programmes as Leonardo da Vinci and Erasmus+ KA1 activity. It implements mobility projects as either sending or host organisation.
The present Erasmus+ programme project "The new competences and experience in EU countries" (No.2017-1-LV01-KA102-035303, funded by EU community) involved 31 students and 6 teachers of professional education, who took part in mobilities in Estonia, Lithuania, Germany and Bulgary.
