Primary School for Adult Education in Vranje

The Primary School for Adult Education in Vranje is an educational institution dedicated to providing primary education for adults who, for various reasons, have not completed regular schooling. The school is located at Kneza Miloša 26, 17500 Vranje, Serbia, and plays a key role in improving literacy and the educational level of the adult population in the region.

Mission and Vision

The school’s mission is to offer a second chance for education to all adults who wish to obtain primary education, improve their skills, and increase their employment opportunities and social integration. The vision of the school is to provide quality education and empower learners through modern teaching methods and tailored programs, with a special focus on vulnerable social groups.

Educational Programs

The school implements adult primary education programs in accordance with the curriculum of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia. The teaching process is adapted to the needs of adult learners, allowing flexible learning that accommodates their obligations and personal circumstances. In addition to primary education, the school offers:

• Functional Primary Education for Adults (FOO) – a tailored program for learners of all ages, with a strong emphasis on acquiring practical knowledge and skills.
• Additional Educational Activities – workshops and training programs focused on key competencies such as digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and environmental awareness.
• Empowerment Programs for Vulnerable Groups – special attention is given to the education of Roma, the unemployed, and socially disadvantaged individuals.

International Cooperation and Projects

The school actively participates in international projects, including Erasmus+ programs, to enhance the quality of education and facilitate the exchange of experiences with similar institutions across Europe. It is currently the coordinator of a KA122-ADU Erasmus+ project focused on job shadowing and raising environmental awareness among adult learners.

Contribution to the Community

Beyond its educational role, the school is actively involved in the social life of the community through various ecological and social initiatives. By collaborating with local institutions and organizations, it contributes to reducing illiteracy, increasing employability, and raising awareness of the importance of lifelong learning.
