The non-governmental organization (NGO) or association “Oleri manor” is one of the most active organizations in Rujiena municipality. It was established in 2005. The aim of the NGO is the restoration, preservation, maintenance of the cultural and historical environment of Oleri Manor and organizing of public activities. The mission of the NGO “Oleri manor” is to promote culture, education and social life in the rural district in Latvian border side with Estonia.
NGO focus is held to organize educational lectures in art and classical music history, evenings with contemporary artists, workshops in crafts, workshops for ecological use of nature resources, foreign language courses, career development classes and practical study tours etc.
In 2019 NGO “Oleri manor”, as civil society participant, was actively involved in development of Rūjienas municipality territorial planning and strategy preparation for 2019-2025. That is the main document for regional development in Latvia.
NGO “Oleri Manor” has administrated and participated in several cross-border cooperation projects in EEA and Norway Grants and Lifelong learning program Gruntwig, Erasmus+. The staff involved in project (project manager, project assistant and accountant) has experience in various local and international projects – Interreg, ERDF etc.
