National centre of vocational training in the system of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Bulgaria
The NVET in the system of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bulgaria /The Center/ is a non-profit organization - implements, coordinates and controls activities in vocational education and training of adults. Areas: Vocational education for persons over 16 years of age in accordance with the VET Act for which it is licensed and issues documents in accordance with the law; makes proposals to the competent state bodies for the development and improvement of the VET system; participates in the activities of various bodies, councils and commissions in the field of VET; organizes seminars, discussions, educational courses and trainings between interested parties for the adaptation and implementation of innovative products in the VET system; develops curricula, assessment and control systems in accordance with the DOS and European practices - it has 51 licensed professions with 94 specialties; participates and supports successful participation in European programs; project management; implementation of good European practices in VET; carries out business activities related to the subject of the main activity
The Center has worked on projects from various donors and for its 23-year history they amount to 105, of which 39 international and the others at the national level. The Center has 20 branches across the country. The projects in the field of vocational training, the specifics of training for people with special needs, lifelong learning, adult education, entrepreneurship training, training for improving the qualifications of employees in companies, development of methods and forms of training, validation of knowledge and skills, and others. An important emphasis in the trainings is environmental protection and green technologies. We have worked on projects with partners from Germany, Greece, Italy, Romania, Austria, the Netherlands, Finland, Belgium, Sweden, and others. The Center strives to expand its international activities, in aspects of finding new and innovative tools for applying knowledge and mastering modern methods of work in the training and educational sphere, focusing on expanding the capacity of international relations for developing the cooperation network.
