GIPA represents one of the leading and innovative western-oriented higher education institutions in Georgia.  DRDVE of GIPA is the successor of a USDA-funded program launched in June 2003 and managed by GIPA since April 2005. It promotes rural development and an improved quality of life for Georgia’s rural population through various donor funded projects in Georgia. 

Specific activities include providing a wide variety of services such as education and capacity-building, institutional development, designing sustainable socio-economic solutions for conflict and economically depressed zones, policy making and administration in the fields of agriculture, youth and women empowerment, rural development and project management, research and analysis. Key fields of expertise and interventions are agriculture, veterinary, animal health, food safety, occupational safety, environmental protection, agricultural statistics, agro-business, rural development etc. 

Apart from the development project management activities, DRDVE also runs a vocational educational program in Occupational Safety and Environmental Protection Technologies. We maintain a strong position in the educational domain through tailor made capacity building and skills development nationwide.
