In Greece psychiatric reform began with Regulation 815/84 of the EOK and continues to this day with the” Psychargos “program co-financed by the European Union, had a positive effect on the development of mental health services for children, adolescents and adultes. Since then, new services have been gradually developed in the public health system, not enough yet for the needs of population. So private sector covers many gaps in care.
The Center for Mental and Pedagogical Support (KEPSIPI), private sector, created in 1980 in West Attica and specifically in Korydallos (a suburb of Piraeus), has substantial experience in the mental health sector and support for people with mental and educational difficulties. Our basic philosophy is the holistic approach, biological and psychosocial, of the developmental and mental health disorders.
Our main goal is to identify, diagnose and intervene - if necessary - in the difficulties faced by the child from the first moment of their appearance (early diagnosis and early intervention). We provide support and rehabilitation services to adults, adolescents and children. Therapeutic programs are implemented by highly specialized scientists.
Our additional goal is the parental education on issues that concern them with the performance and behaviors of their children, the community education (Schools, Institutions, etc.) on mental health issues, the training and specializing therapists in modern methods of dealing with various difficulties, the publication of scientific books and information leaflets aimed at educating community therapists, parents and organizations.
The direct cooperation of our Center with recognized Greek and International Scientific Associations and the continuous participation in Greek and International forums ensures the consistent, correct and ethical application of current issues of Mental Health.
Our multidisciplinary scientific team consists of Psychologists, Psychotherapists, Child Psychiatrists, Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Special Educators, Drama Therapists, and other Mental Health Professionals.
We cooperate with all insurance funds.
