Bialskopodlaska Lokalna Grupa Dzialania

Poland.

Bialskopodlaska Local Action Group (BLGD) is an association that has been operating continuously since 2006. It covers 19 neighbouring municipalities in the Biała Podlaska county, with a total population of approximately 104,000. Biała Podlaska county is located in eastern Poland, in the northeastern part of the Lublin Voivodeship, and its eastern border forms the boundary between Poland, (and the European Union), and Belarus. and the eastern border of the district is the border of Poland and the European Union with Belarus.

Throughout our years of operation, we have supported numerous activities related to sustainable development of rural areas, tourism development, the stimulation of local initiatives, and the preservation of our region's natural and cultural heritage. We have encouraged local communities to effectively utilize their strengths, seek new ways to improve the area's competitiveness, protect the natural environment, and address challenges such as unemployment, limited access to services, and an aging population.

BLGD has extensive experience collaborating with local institutions and international partners on projects related to culture, cuisine, and infrastructure. We have implemented international cooperation projects with partners from Germany, Belgium and Italy, focusing on the creation and marking of tourist trails: cycling, Nordic walking, kayaking and culinary.

In addition to implementing projects under the LEADER program, our association has also secured funding from other EU and national funds. We have supported numerous initiatives aimed at rural development, such as the revitalization and renovation of public utility buildings, inventorying monuments, and organizing promotional events and workshops.

The projects we have carried out have significantly improved the quality of life for our residents, enhanced the attractiveness of municipalities, met the socio-cultural needs of the population, and improved the quality of public technical and sports-recreational infrastructure.

The implemented projects have visibly improved the quality of life of our residents, influenced the improvement of their standard of living, increased the attractiveness of the municipalities, satisfied the socio-cultural needs of the residents and improved the quality of publicly available technical and recreational infrastructure.

Currently, BLGD focuses particularly on the social inclusion of disadvantaged groups, such as young people, seniors, women, and people with disabilities.
