PROFILE OF THE ORGANIZATION

ARTIFACTORY is a multivalent, flexible nexus that envisions a culture-driven society and is located in Kastrosykia, Region of Epirus, Greece. Its legal status is a non for profit organization. ARTIFACTORY aims to demonstrate the socio-economic potential of heritage and the educational value of culture and the arts through firsthand experiences with audiences at heritage places, attracting projects, skills and networks for community growth and development. The founding members of ARTIFACTORY are involved in more than 20 years in the design and implementation of EU and national funded projects in the domain of culture, cultural heritage planning, cultural heritage audiovisuals, tourism, VET training, mobility and academic research.

The main aims of ARTIFACTORY:

CULTURE AND THE CCI

exploit the potential of culture and the arts as a main medium for the resolution of social conflicts and link the cultural heritage experience to the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI)
research digital heritage and the new audiovisual languages guiding professionals to develop a new narrative for Europe

TOURISM

To improve heritage tourism and train tourism professionals in understanding the socio-economic potential of cultural and natural heritage
To raise awareness of communities, professionals and policy makers on the socio-economic potential of cultural heritage and  stimulate cultural projects, initiatives and investments; 

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

develop training for heritage professionals and address the skills gaps and mismatches in the cultural heritage sector
develop training for tourism professionals in a constantly changing knowledge ecosystems
participate training and evolve the individual skills of the organization members in in a permanent evolution effort

LOCAL COMMUNITIES

assist local communities and the youth, discover their local heritage potential and strengthen their capacity the planning and management of heritage
communicate heritage values to the and involve the youth into non-formal learning and international mobility opportunities
to empower and support the youth to act responsibly and creatively  for their communities and heritage and help  improve their life and professional skills through culture and the arts
