The Academy for Vocational Training (AFBB) is based in Dresden and has further branches in Berlin and Cologne. AFBB operates several vocational schools as well as a continuing education company (AWV) and a private university of applied sciences (FHD) with a total of around 1,500 trainees and students in 25 professions. The various training courses are characterised by high quality as well as practical relevance and lead to recognised qualifications. In addition to highly qualified teachers, innovative teaching methods and interdisciplinary courses, AFBB offers occupation-specific vocational training certificates and work placement opportunities. Furthermore, AFBB has extensive experience in the implementation of EU-funded projects as lead and project partner. Our quality standards are supported by a quality management system that meets the requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001: 2008 and the Recognition and Approval Regulation - Employment Promotion (AZAV).
AFBB focuses on the internationalisation of its profile and is one of the German vocational schools with the highest number of LdV/Erasmus+ mobilities among students. AFBB was one of twelve nationwide project promoters of the pilot initiative "DECVET".
